Battle report:

Another fine match in which the Tuaregs decided to take on the oppo. with a reduced team. One player dropped out the morning of the game and our illustrious keeper / batsman (Rob White) decided to pull some moose at a ball the night before and was utterly useless all day.

However all was not lost, we won the toss and put them in to bat. Knowing that our strength was in the bowling this was good decision.

Two hours later and at 191 for 4 the Tappers decided to put our bowling attack out of itıs misery. We had however fielded well, chasing every ball hard as it was smashed towards and over the boundary ropes.

In our response our openers started well, with a stand of 67 (Mike Bond 27 and Ed Beckwith 40). The firm foundation was soon to crumble in familiar fashion and the Tuaregs were all out for 127. Even removing Saul 'If they appeal several times, one of them has to be out' Shanagher from the umpiring responsibilities failed to work.

So back on the familiar road of mediocrity, the campfires were momentarily doused. Still hopes were drawn from some excellent banter and 'always say die' team spirit.

Result:

Routing of the camel warriors.

Mong-Moment:

Alex Paterson (the Chief), fielding at cover, had the ball hit towards quite hard. Rather than try and prevent a certain four runs, he skipped over the ball and waved it all the way to the boundary.

This display of fairy like fielding brought chants of 'Oh Al. You've just dropped you lipstick!'
